When you listen to Amatorski, you wander into a strangely beautiful universe of songs with sparse spoken words and modest, whispering sounds. Tiny eyes wink at the ethereal music of Portishead, Sigur Ros and Radiohead. Music by which anyone can imagine his own movie. But above all, the songs grab your attention. And they are worth it, one by one. Space, frugality and melancholy are the typical building blocks. On Record Store Day Amatorski come forward with their debut, 'Same Stars We Shared', a nicely illustrated exclusive vinyl release in the shape of 'four intoxicatingly beautiful lullabies' (De Standaard). The nostalgic single Come Home is immediately picked up by Belgian national radio (Radio 1 and Studio Brussel) and honoured with heavy airplay. Encouraged by overwhelming response and demand Amatorski decide to issue a second release of Same Stars We Shared on cd, in partnership with Munich Records. |
